Sonora, CA — A new report looks at the quality of the Tuolumne Utilities District’s drinking water.
The testing occurred between January 1 and December 31 of last year. It covers all treated water service areas the district serves, including 11 surface water treatment plants and 12 active wells. TUD’s surface water comes from the South Fork of the Stanislaus River at Lyons Reservoir via the Tuolumne Main Canal.
In 1996, Congress began requiring water agencies deliver their customers an annual quality report. It includes information on source water, levels of any detected contaminants, and compliance with drinking water regulations.
