Preparing Your Vehicle For Winter

Sonora, CA — With the weather starting to change, CHP Officer Mike Remmel says it is important to make sure your vehicle is ready for the winter months.

“You can put studded tires on your vehicle beginning November 1st, and if you’re not using studded tires you need to find some chains,” says Remmel. “Make sure that they are in your vehicle at all times and the proper size.”

Remmel says it is also important to check all the tires to make sure that they are properly inflated, check the fluids in the vehicle, and make sure the windshield wipers are working properly. It’s best to make sure the vehicle is ready now, before the snow hits hard this winter.
