San Andreas, CA– Cal Fire believes Halloween in the Mother Lode should be a fun and safe night and is offering these important Halloween safety tips.
Halloween costumes should be made of flame retardant material. That information can be found on the costume label. To be seen easily, costumes should be made from light colored material and have glow-in-the-dark reflective tape on them. Jack-o-lanterns should be lit with battery powered lights and never with candles, and children should be instructed to stay away from open flames.
Lastly, remove objects from the yard that could present a hazard to trick-or-treaters such as garden tools and hoses. Motorists should also be cautious of trick-or-treaters who may be too busy to watch the roadway.
