A Freeze Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Motherlode through 10am Thursday and again on Friday from midnight through 10am.
Overnight minimum temperatures range from the upper teens to the upper twenties and temperatures below freezing will last for eight hours or more in the coldest areas.
Record or near record minimum temperatures are possible in several locations.
Damage to unprotected outdoor piping will be possible. These conditions will kill sensitive vegetation and cause damage to citrus plants, nut trees and nursery stock. Protective measures should be taken and completed.
A Freeze Warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent.
