West Point, CA– A West Point man was taken into custody yesterday after injuring another man with a knife.
According to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Main Street in West Point for a reported disturbance between two men.
Upon arrival, officers learned that 18 year old James Moore Jr. of West Point had been involved in a verbal confrontation with 20 year old Dustin Wright, also of West Point. Moore reportedly pulled out a knife and got into a struggle with Wright.
Although Moore was able to flee the scene, he was later arrested at his residence without further incident. Wright suffered minor injuries during the struggle. Moore is currently being held at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
