Sonora, CA — Cherry Lake Road in the Stanislaus National Forest is closed for a week.
Workers will be cleaning up debris from a rockslide that occurred last Friday. The temporary closure point is approximately one mile north of the Tuolumne River crossing at Early Intake. The road has been declared unsafe for travel. Drilling and blasting will start today, followed by excavation and hauling of the debris. The work is being conducted by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Hetch Hetchy Water and Power.
