Supervisors To Vote On S.P.I. Proposal

Standard, CA — A proposal by Sierra Pacific Industries to rezone a 15 acre piece of property in Standard to “Commercial Use” will go before the Tuolumne County Supervisors Tuesday.

It received a unanimous recommendation by the Tuolumne County Planning Commission on November 3rd. The property, next to the new Standard Center, is currently zoned for industrial use. Though no specific plans have been put forward by S.P.I., if approved, it would open the door for developers to build stores and potentially a new shopping center on the property.

The S.P.I. property is just east of the new Standard Center, which has the Tractor Supply Store as an anchor, and will soon include add an AM/PM mini-mart and some type of fast food restaurant.

The proposal will be voted on Tuesday afternoon by the Board of Supervisors.
