Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Public Library will soon offer amnesty for overdue books. If you have a book that’s been sitting in your house for months that is overdue, it can be dropped off from December 20th through January 18th and there will not be a late fee applied.
“We are very conscious of the tough economic times of our community,” says Maggie Durgin, County Librarian. “We want to help our patrons out with a fresh start for the New Year.”
The library considers it a win-win situation in that the borrower can save some money, and in turn the library may receive some of its books back that have gone missing.
