Sonora, CA — The population is increasing in both Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties.
From July 1st, 2009 to July 1st, 2010, Calaveras County gained 130 residents to bring the total population to 46,117. Tuolumne County gained 93 residents to bring the population to 55,896. In Calaveras County there were 324 births and 444 deaths during this period. In Tuolumne County there were 404 births and 618 deaths reported.
During the previous period of July 1st 2008 to July 1st 2009, Calaveras County had lost 143 residents and Tuolumne County had lost 805 residents.
The statistics were compiled by the California Department of Finance.
