Tuolumne, CA — A 60-year-old Sonora man was arrested following a high speed chase last night.
CHP Officer Mike Remmell says Nels Eric Newquist allegedly hit another vehicle on Soulsbyville Road and left the scene. The vehicle was spotted shortly after by the CHP and a chase ensued through Soulsbyville and Tuolumne. Eventually an officer rammed the vehicle, bringing it to a stop near the intersection of Pine Street and Bay Street.
Once the vehicle was stopped, Newquist resisted arrest and was pepper sprayed. He was arrested and booked into Tuolumne County Jail.
