Columbia, CA — Parrotts Ferry Road is back open following this morning’s rockslide.
The road was closed down early this morning by the Tuolumne County Roads Department because of a slide involving boulders the size of small cars. Blue Mountain Minerals donated their equipment and time to the cause and brought in their CAT 992C front-end loader to remove the rocks.
Parrotts Ferry Road was damaged from the rockslide and the county had to quickly make onsite repairs. The slide was in the canyon area, approximately one mile from the Tuolumne-Calaveras County line. After being closed for over five hours, Parrotts Ferry Road opened up at 11:30am.
