Sonora, CA — Developer Ron Kopf is now in the process of evaluating his options following his departure from the Mountain Springs Community project.
Kopf´s departure was caused by the downturn in the economy. After finally meeting all the permitting criteria and gaining a 4-1 approval vote from the Board of Supervisors, the Mountain Springs investors now find themselves in the sidelines waiting for a turnabout in the economy hence Kopf´s departure.
Kopf is now looking at several options one of them being joining forces with Modesto´s Vince Estell who envisions creating a Butchart Gardens (Victoria, B.C.) experience at the Jamestown Mine Site.
That project would also include a hotel, convention center, retail shops, softball, baseball and soccer fields along with a campground.
While evaluating several potential opportunities, Kopf is hopeful of maintaining his family´s residence in Tuolumne County.
