Update: Fire Quickly Contained In Rancho Calaveras

Update at 5pm: CAL Fire reports that today’s vegetation fire in Rancho Calaveras was caused by someone mowing dry grass. A citation was issued as the fire burned across three properties.

Original story posted at 1:35pm: Rancho Calaveras, CA — A vegetation fire was quickly contained in the area of Olive Orchard Road and West Lake Road.

The fire in the Rancho Calaveras area was reported at around 1:15pm. Aircraft was dispatched from Columbia, but then quickly released as the fire was contained at about 1/2 acre. It is unclear what ignited the blaze and no structures were damaged.
