Jamestown, CA — What was initially thought to be a Measles outbreak at the Sierra Waldorf School in Jamestown is likely only Chicken Pox.
Tuolumne County Public Health Nursing Director Kathy Amos says, “We have received some of the final lab reports back and measles has essentially been ruled out.”
The Health Department is relieved to hear the results of the tests.
Complications from Chicken Pox are rare among healthy children. Pregnant women, newborn infants and cancer patients are at higher risk for more severe complications and should be kept isolated from potential exposure.
