Jamestown, CA — Firefighters were outside the Sierra Conservation Center Wednesday afternoon collecting donations for the “Fill the Boot For Burns” campaign.
Mike Spear of Cal Fire says, “The money will help firefighters, police officers, the general public, and anyone else who is burned in any type of incident.”
Money raised will go to the Fire Fighters Burn Institute based out of Sacramento.
“Everybody here is volunteering to do this during their off duty time,” says Fire Captain Paul Vizcarra of the Sierra Conservation Center. “It is for a good cause.”
Other firefighters will be collecting money Friday at the intersection of Mono Way and Tuolumne Rd.
