Angels Camp, CA — The State of California has released a 91 page report analyzing the collapse of the Yo-Yo ride at the Calaveras County Fair last year, and concludes that the accident was caused by the failure of a single lock washer.
The Department of Industrial Relations says there is not evidence that operator error contributed to the accident.
The failure of the ride caused injuries to 21 patrons on May 16, all of which where minors. Three of the injured were immediately transported to area hospitals via ambulance.
The report comes down hard on owner Harry Mason indicating that equipment lacked proper maintenance.
