Sonora, CA — A pancake breakfast, the street fair and the eleven o’clock parade are a few of the highlights of the annual Murphys Irish Day celebration.
Saturday’s event will boast a variety of live musical acts and other entertainment to celebrate the community’s Irish heritage.
This year’s Parade Grand Marshall will be Paul Moeller, a video chronicler in Calaveras County for the past 20 years. The parade will travel along Main Street, and Moeller will be riding in a 1928 Model A roadster pickup owned by Adrian Nestor.
Murphys Community Park will be transformed into a Royal Court, with re-enactments to take place throughout the day.
The event is put on by the Murphys Business Association and will run from 10am-5pm. A pancake breakfast will run from 8-11am at the Congregational Church at the corner of Church and Algiers St.
