Sonora, CA — “Big box” retail stores will longer need to submit an economic analysis when requesting a conditional use permit in Tuolumne County.
The Supervisors voted 4-1 Tuesday to drop the requirement, and the lone dissenter was Board Chair Teri Murrisson.
“My vote was simply to say that we should have the new Economic Development Authority Director look at it first,” says Murrison.
EDA Director Larry Cope is in the midst of his first week on the job.
The economic analysis is a report analyzing potential positive and negative effects a business would have on the local economy.
