Sonora, CA — If you’re a connoisseur of desserts you might consider spending next Sunday afternoon at the Taste For Mentoring Dessert event.
The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the A-TCAA Mentoring Program.
The 2pm Sunday, April 19 event is set for the Sonora Elks Club.
Tuolumne County restaurants will be serving sample size desserts for those in attendance and a group of celebrity judges. First, second and third place awards are on the line for the “friendly” competitors.
In addition to the dessert tasting there will be plenty of music provided by the Auxiliary Ukelele Orchestra and Blue Shoes in addition to an antique car show.
Currently 35 youngsters are in the program with 18 on the waiting list for a mentor. Requirements for a mentor; spend two to four hours a week with a child for at least a year.
