Update at 11:30 a.m.: The CHP reports that the two individuals that were pinned in vehicles involved in the three-vehicle pileup in the Copper Cove Subdivision in Copperopolis have been freed by emergency crews. Additionally, the air ambulances have been called off the scene. Two other people also suffered moderate and minor injuries and all are being taken by ground ambulances to nearby hospitals. Tow crews are working to remove the wreckage that is blocking Little John Road, off O’Byrnes Ferry Road.
Original post at 11:10 a.m.: Copperopolis, CA — Emergency crews are on the scene of a three vehicle pileup in the Copper Cove Subdivision in Copperopolis and two air ambulance have been requested.
The collision happened on Little John Road near Moccasin Street, off O’Byrnes Ferry Road and is blocking the roadway. The CHP reports two of the vehicles, one a pickup truck and the other a sedan, hit head on and a third vehicle struck those cars and went down an embankment. The CHP reports a two individuals are pinned inside vehicles with emergency crews working to free them.
There are a total of four people hurt in the accident, two with moderate and two with minor injuries, according to the CHP. We will have an update as soon as new information comes into the newsroom.
