San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County officials have ordered the immediate shutdown of all golfing activities at the Ridge at Trinitas.
Several weeks ago by a 3-2 vote, the Calaveras County supervisors halted Mike and Michelle Nemee’s proposal to build a clubhouse-pro shop, a 30 unit lodging facility and sell 13 lots for high-end residential housing. The Nemees also wanted to acquire permits for large events.
Now, according to the Stockton Record, the Nemees have been ordered to halt all golfing activities at the 18 hole layout south of Wallace. Brent Harrington, the interim director of the now defunct Community Development Agency, stated in a letter sent to the Nemees, "If the site is used for golfing, the county will have to assume you are willfully allowing the use of the site contrary to county code and the Board’s decision May 12. The county will have no choice but to initiate enforcement action."
So far, no comment from the Nemees.
