Jamestown, CA — Late Sunday evening Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputies made three arrests in one stop at the Tesoro Service Station (Whistle Stop) on Hwy 108 and Rawhide Rd.
Deputies Mike Pershall and Paul Spears noticed a vehicle in the parking lot. Pershall witnessed 42 year old Eric Michael Kile of Jamestown and 53 year old Lonny Ray Pierce of Jamestown exchanging a Craftsman air compressor.
The deputies received varying stories from Kile, Pierce and a third individual, 43 year old Kerry Carlton Atkins of Jamestown, as to who owned the compressor and why they were in the area.
One of the individuals then admitted that the compressor and other tools in the vehicle (welding tanks and a Lincoln arc welder) were probably stolen.
Deputies also discovered three methadone pills, two baggies of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe in the vehicle.
All three were arrested without incident and booked into the County Jail.
