San Andreas, CA — Late Saturday evening 71 year old Donald Moore of Copperopolis was arrested for driving under the influence by the C.H.P.
Moore was the driver of a 1996 Kawasaki Mule ATV when he left a Fourth of July celebration with 72 year old Gary Loustalot of Angels Camp. Moore decided to take the ATV trail rather than the main road on his way home.
The ATV had no headlights and neither individual was wearing a seatbelt when Moore, due to his level of intoxication, missed a curve near Aero Rd. in Copperopolis and proceeded down an embankment into a drainage ditch.
Moore was treated at Mark Twain-St. Joseph’s Hospital for cuts and abrasions. Loustalot was flown to Doctors Hospital in Modesto with a concussion and abrasions.
Moore was one of five Calaveras County residents arrested on a DUI charge during the Independence Day weekend 54 hour Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP).
