Sacramento, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center has been granted a waiver on Cal Med patients billing through the legislative process.
Senator Dave Cogdill was able to negotiate a waiver of the state induced 10 percent Medi-Cal cuts suffered by many hospitals in the state.
Cogdill commented, “We were able to gain an exemption for what are commonly referred to as rural referral centers and Sonora Regional Medical Center is one of those so we were able to get a waiver from the 10 percent Medi-Cal cut. An additional 10 percent cut to S.R.M.C. in addition to so many other cuts the hospital has suffered would have been devastating.”
