Sonora, CA — Mike Ruggles has been named as the new CEO of the non-profit agency Sierra Senior Providers.
Ruggles was the Executive Director of Skyline Place Senior Living in Sonora until his departure earlier this year. During that tenure he was responsible for the overall operation of the 120-unit Residential Care Facility for the elderly and supervised a staff of six department heads and 50 support employees.
Ruggles and his wife Barbara departed Sonora for Grass Valley where he served as a Meals On Wheels volunteer. Prior to working at Skyline Place Ruggles had been employed by Quail Ridge Senior Living in Grass Valley.
“After years of working in Sonora I felt more connected to the community here than in Grass Valley so I am looking forward to moving back. Working with seniors has been a passion of mine for many years and I am thrilled that I can be a part of Sierra Senior Providers and be involved in the work that they do to provide much needed services to many of our seniors in Tuolumne County. I am looking forward to working with the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers and with our supporters and donors, all of whom dedicate a great deal of time, expertise and money to help ensure that seniors who want and need our services are well taken care of.”
