Sonora, CA — Work is now underway for a couple of Hwy 49 projects that will be completed within the year.
According to Caltrans’ Lisa Balcom the nine mile, $1 million overlay project stretching from Pesche Way to the Calaveras County line will be completed in mid October. The contractor is Granite Construction of Stockton. Funding for this project is stimulus money through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Either this week or next Caltans Spokesperson Lisa Balcom states the $177,000 three way signal project at the Pedro Y (Hwy 49 and Parrotts Ferry Rd.) will be getting underway. That work will be completed in mid November. The contractor is Tennyson Electric of Livermore.
One way traffic control will be in force throughout the duration of the projects from 7:30am to 4:30pm.
