CHP Out In Full Force

San Andreas, CA — All available CHP officers are on the road this weekend making sure travelers move to and from Labor Day activities safely.

San Andreas CHP Officer Jaime Castillo says a Maximum Enforcement Period began Friday evening and will continue through Monday.

Officers will primarily be looking for three specific violations: speeding, drunk driving and not wearing seatbelts.

Castillo says anyone who sees a suspected drunk driver on the road can help law enforcement by calling 911 and reporting the license plate number and make of the car.

Last year 40 people died statewide over Labor Day weekend on California highways.
