Sonora, CA — Blustery winds and pouring rain have bid a farewell to the Mother Lode … now it’s cleanup time.
According to Tuolumne County Road Superintendent Barry Bynum, “Basically trees were the issue. Flooding was minimal at best. There were some ditches that were obstructed that caused a little bit of a problem but the roads themselves were maintained very well. Tree damage, cleanup and mopup today will be our primary effort. Other than that we faired fairly well.”
Bynum noted that while it’s not a rarity, it was interesting that the majority of the tree damage was in the low lying areas of Jamestown, Parrotts Ferry Rd., Algerene and O’Byrnes Ferry Rd.
