Sonora, CA — If you have any county business to take care of in Tuolumne County, you’ll want to do it today or next week.
The week of November 23rd a majority of county workers will be on furlough. The County will have a total of 15 furlough days this fiscal year, and most will be around the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s holidays. According to CAO Craig Pedro, they will save the county around $4.4 million.
Emergency services will be available as usual during the furlough period, including Sheriff’s Office, fire and ambulance. Office functions, like the Civil Division of the Sheriff’s Office will be closed. Snow plowing services will be provided as needed during the furlough period. Health and Human Services will be available, but they will be on reduced hours. Meanwhile, Child Support Services will be open Monday through Wednesday from 8 am to 5 pm.
The Clerk/Auditor/Controller’s office and the Treasurer/Tax Collector/Recorder’s office will be open November 23-25 from 9am-1pm.
