Sonora, CA — The 26th annual Sonora Christmas Parade with more than 70 entries this year is right around the corner.
Friday evening the parade will start promptly at 5:30 from the Red Church ending at Restano Way.
Police Chief Mark Stinson has announced a number of street closures in lieu of the parade. School Street will be closed from 3pm until approximately 8pm. Washington Street will be closed to ALL traffic from the intersection of Snell Street to the intersection of Hospital Road from 5pm until approximately 8pm. Restano Way will be closed from 5pm until approximately 8pm.
As far as detours are concerned, southbound traffic on Washington Street will be detoured onto Elkin Street, then onto Stewart Street, then up Mono Way. Northbound traffic on Washington Street will be detoured up Hospital Road to Mono Way and down Mono Way onto Stewart Street, then onto Elkin and back onto Washington Street.
All eastbound traffic on Stockton Road will be stopped at Green Street and turned around. Eastbound traffic will be detoured up Forest Road, then up Bonanza Street. to Hwy 49.
