Sonora, CA – Warm Thanksgiving meals were served up in downtown Sonora Wednesday evening thanks to Christian Heights Church and Heart Rock Café.
Volunteers delivered meals to shut-in residents throughout the county, and a community gathering was held between Heart Rock and the Veterans Hall.
“It looks like there is a little bit more need this year,” says Daryl Sarina with Christian Heights Church. “Although we delivered a few less meals, I think we served more than past years on site.”
An estimated 600 residents took advantage of the free dinner.
“We just want to reach out and help people any way that we can, and share the gospel with them” adds Sarina.
The Thanksgiving eve meal is a yearly tradition for Christian Heights Church and Heart Rock Cafe.
