Sonora, CA — According to Tuolumne County Public Works Director Peter Rei the new Sullivan Creek Bridge may open as early as next week.
At this morning’s supervisorial meeting Rei commented that the paving of the $2.1 million structure may take place by the end of this week. If that is completed the bridge may be opened to through traffic sometime next week.
Recently Gary Taylor from the Public Works Department commented that the bridge might open to the motoring public between the 11th and 14th of December.
At the conclusion of his remarks this morning Rei stated, "I’m sure this will be a wonderful relief to those who have been forced to utilize a lengthy detour during the construction process."
The entire price tag for the bridge is being funded by the Federal Highway Bridge Program.
