Tuolumne, CA — The Summerville Union High School Board will vote on December 15th whether to expand the Connections Visual and Performing Arts Academy to grades five and six.
The performing arts charter school connected with Summerville High currently enrolls students in grades 7-12.
District Superintendent Dr. John Keiter says the former Black Oak Elementary School campus is being looked at as a possible location for the additional fifth and sixth grade students.
“Financially, each student that attends would generate revenue, and that’s new revenue that would be used to support the teacher and other services that we would provide,” says Keiter.
Students interested would be selected by a drawing. There would be around 15 from each grade level accepted to the program.
