San Andreas, CA — Still another chapter was written Wednesday morning in the continuing saga of those random shootings in the Valley Springs area of Calaveras County.
The Sheriff’s Department is reporting that at least one shot was fired into a private residence occupied by 51 year old Deborah Ann Stuart (2433 Hwy 26) at approximately 6:20am. Although Stuart was present no injuries were reported.
The Sheriff’s Department is attempting to determine if this shooting is related to the recent series of drive-by shootings. There have now been 10 reported shootings into both vehicles and residences in the Valley Springs area. While Sheriff Dennis Downum does not initially believe the Wednesday morning shooting and the drive-bys are related, he has stated that investigators will treat them as such at the outset of the investigation.
The A.T.F., the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shootings.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 754-6500. Your call can remain anonymous. In addition the A.T.F. can be contacted at 1-800-ATF-GUNS.
