Oakdale, Ca — Emergency crews successfully rescued two victims from the Stanislaus River east of Knights Ferry Friday.
According to a report from CALTRANS, a 14-year-old male and a 26-year-old female were thrown out of their raft and clinging to large boulders. Due to the steep terrain, which was covered with an over growth of brush, fire crews were unable to get near the victims.
A CHP helicopter was called in, and both of the victims were individually hoisted to a safe area. The mission took one hour and 35 minutes to complete. The names of the two that were rescued have not immediately been released.
