San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department is forecasting a reduction of approximately $1,250,000 if a 10 percent reduction is enforced.
Such a reduction would eliminate the CAL-MET program that combats methamphetamine manufacturing and the drug endangered children´s program.
Elsewhere there would be a freeze on two vacant deputy sheriff positions, the elimination of all extra hire personnel, the elimination of the Valley Springs and Copperopolis substations and no new patrol car purchases for the coming fiscal year.
