Oakdale, CA — Traffic was stopped on Hwy 108 near Lancaster Rd. in Stanislaus County Sunday afternoon at approximately three o´clock due to a 15 acre grass fire.
CAL Fire Communications Operator Jim DeVoll reports the fire was caused by a spark resulting from a lawnmower coming in contact with a rock.
Responding to that blaze: Air Attack, two helicopters and two air tankers from Columbia Air Base, five CAL Fire engines, one dozer, two hand crews, a battalion chief and a prevention officer. In addition three local engines responded from the Oakdale City Fire Department and Oakdale Rural.
No injuries or structural damage was reported.
