Bikers Take Over Jamestown For A Good Cause

Jamestown, Ca — In an effort to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts rode from Mitchell´s Modesto Harley Davidson Dealership to downtown Jamestown Saturday morning as part of the 14th annual Sierra Hope Ride.

The bikers arrived to a party atmosphere, featuring two musical stages, a beverage garden, live motorcycle demonstrations and booths selling a variety of accessories.

Unlike past years when the destination was the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, Main St. in Jamestown was blocked off for the festivities.

There were a number of special dignitaries on hand, including Harley-Davidson Motor Company President and COO Jim McCaslin who flew in from the company´s headquarters in Milwaukee, WI.

“This is absolutely terrific,” says McCaslin. “The quaintness of the buildings is great, and the streets are perfect for lining up bikes. It´s a real cool thing. I hope Jamestown let´s them come back next year.”

Also in town from Milwaukee was Lance Onan, who is in charge of Product Planning for Harley-Davidson. “This is my first time here, and I´m very impressed with it,” says Onan. “It was a wonderful ride in from Modesto, and Jamestown is just an adorable town and a perfect setting for this event.”

The riders left Modesto at 10am and arrived in Jamestown shortly before 11:30am. Since 1995, the Sierra Hope Ride has raised nearly $3 million for MDA.
