Sonora, Ca — C.H.P. officers were out in full force over the Memorial Day weekend as part of a Maximum Enforcement Period.
Officer Jaime Castillo in San Andreas reports that Calaveras County had two arrests for D.U.I. and a total of 10 collisions. None of the collisions were alcohol or drug related.
Officer Tom Wills of the Sonora area office says that in Tuolumne County there were six D.U.I. arrests and 14 collisions. Two of the incidents were drug or alcohol related.
Neither county had any traffic related fatalities. The next C.H.P. Maximum Enforcement Period will take place over the Fourth of July holiday.
