Sonora, CA — Wednesday evening at six o´clock the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce will host Candidates Night in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the County Administration Center, 2 S. Green St. in downtown Sonora.
A total of seven candidates will be running for the three supervisorial positions in Districts One, Four and Five respectively.
The District One showdown will focus on Incumbent Liz Bass, Jim Garaventa and Randall Selesia. In District Four Incumbent Mark Thornton is being challenged by John Gray and in District Five Incumbent and current Board Chair Dick Pland will face off against Domenic Torchia.
According to Chamber President and CEO George Segarini economic development was the majority theme of the questions submitted by members of the business community.
Each candidate will have an opening statement limited to two minutes. Questions will then be asked of the candidates. Candidates will then be able to question a candidate but only in his or her supervisorial race. The audience will be permitted three questions. Each candidate will then be allowed three minutes for a closing statement.
Candidates Night will be aired in its entirety on AM-1450 KVML and audio streamed live on MyMotherLode.com. The audience is asked to be seated no later than 5:45pm.
