Catalytic Converter Caused Mono Way Fire

Sonora, Ca — CAL Fire Battalion Chief Barry Rudolph says a catalytic converter has been determined as the likely cause of an approximately 50 x 100 ft. vegetation fire on Mono Way across from Mother Lode Motors this morning.

Fire crews were on scene during the 11 o´clock hour, and were able to quickly contain the blaze. A piece of the faulty catalytic converter was found at the scene, but officials do not know which vehicle it originated.
