Columbia, Ca — The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Office reports that no one was injured after a plane made an unexpected landing near Columbia late this afternoon.
“We received a report that a small, single engine, fixed wing aircraft had gone down near the Columbia Airport,” says Lt. Dan Bressler. “The plane went down at the intersection of Bennett and Chile Gulch in a field. We don´t know yet, why it went down.”
The aircraft was sold to an unidentified party by Ralph Hiemstra of Sonora prior to the accident. Local fire crews were on scene as of 5:30pm.
