Kennedy Meadows, CA — Construction is well underway at the Kennedy Meadows Resort And Pack Station following that October 1 fire that destroyed the Main Lodge, seven cabins and a number of smaller facilities.
Family Spokesman Matt Bloom says that crews are actually ahead of schedule thanks to the mild spring weather and the efforts of Caltrans to open Hwy 108 just a few yards past Kennedy Meadows.
Bloom says that five cabins should be open by the end of April. Five new cabins are scheduled for completion by Memorial Day weekend, the same weekend the horses will arrive for the season. Bloom is hopeful the new lodge will be completed by mid-summer.
Blood added that none of this could have been made possible without the help of so many businesses and private parties. Stated Bloom, “I´m overwhelmed by the community´s unbelievable support.”
