Sonora Resident Seriously Injured In Snowmobile Accident

San Andreas, CA — 28 year old Joseph Lima III of Sonora suffered moderate to major injuries early Wednesday afternoon when he was involved in a snowmobile accident on a trail in Tamarack south of Hwy 4.

According to the CHP report, Lima lost control of the vehicle when he entered a tree well. Lima was ejected into a tree trunk where he suffered blunt force trauma to his head. He was not wearing a helmet.

Lima was transported to Sutter-Roseville Hospital via Cal-Star Air Ambulance.

He was also arrested on suspicion of driving an off-road vehicle while under the influence.
