San Andreas, Ca — Five men were arrested following a bust of a methamphetamine lab in San Andreas over the weekend.
The incident was in an area located off Doster Rd. Arrested were 29-year-old Enrique Perez Acevedo, 28-year-old Andres Martines Aguiilar, 37-year-old Juan Barajas Castillo, 40-year-old Juan Villanueva Godinez and 33-year-old Honorio Garcia. All of the suspects reside in the Central Valley.
Sgt. Tracy Busby with the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Office says the investigation was a joint effort between Calaveras County and Amador County.
“They had the capability of processing between 10 to 20 lbs. per each cook that they did,” says Busby. It is believed that the subjects were manufacturing the drugs on a weekly basis. Busby notes that a lab of this size created a large amount of hazardous materials that needed to be cleaned up. On the 40 acre parcel in which the lab was located, investigators found five pits in which the suspects had been dumping hazardous materials.
The suspects were taken to Calaveras County Jail and are being held on $185,000 bail.
