Angels Camp, Ca — The City of Angels Camp will hold an Open House this evening with the purpose of receiving input on ways to improve the Hwy 4-49 intersection.
With the construction of the Angels Camp Bypass, Caltrans decided it would like to relinquish Old State Hwy 4 from downtown Angels Camp heading up to Murphys. As part of the process, however, it was found that some bridges downtown are substandard. The City is now looking at constructing a roundabout road.
“Any type of improvement is going to impact parking, buildings, what the creek looks like, and a whole host of issues,” says City Engineer Gary Ghio. He is encouraging all interested parties to attend tonight´s open house.
A consulting firm has been hired to lead the project, and will be on hand to take in any comments or concerns.
The Open House runs Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Fire House in Angels Camp located at 1404 E. Highway 4.
