San Andreas, CA — Resolutions of necessity for the potential use of eminent domain in acquiring 57 acres of land for the Justice Center expansion project will be one of many items on the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors agenda today.
Outgoing Board Chair Bill Claudino states that such action is merely a formality. He is hopeful that the county will not have to make use of eminent domain in order to acquire the property currently owned by two developers. The land was originally purchased as investment property. Claudino adds negotiations for the property are going very well. The county has offered the developers the appraised value of the land.
Also today there will be a possible resolution to adopt an interim Parks and Recreasion Commission plan for integration into the ongoing general plan update.
The first order of business will be the election of a new Chair and Vice Chair for 2008.
The supervisors meeting will get underway at 9am at the Government Center in San Andreas.
