Sonora, Ca — There will be many ways to celebrate Independence Day across the Mother Lode, as numerous events are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
The ?Fireworks on the Water Spectacular? will begin at 9:30pm Friday on Lake Don Pedro. The half hour show will take place on the water by the Don Pedro Dam, and it can be viewed from the Blue Oaks Group Area, the Visitor Center Helipad Area, or from the water. Each vehicle will be charged $6 to utilize the Don Pedro Recreation Area.
Meanwhile, the annual fireworks display in Mariposa County has been postponed due to the Oliver Fire.
The Arnold Lions Club will host its annual Independence Day Pancake Breakfast from 7:30am to 11am on Friday at the Ebbetts Pass Gas Parking lot on Hwy 4. The Independence Parade will begin at 10am Saturday along Hwy 4 in downtown Arnold
A 4th of July celebration will start at 10am Friday at Columbia State Historic Park. A parade down Main St. is set for noon.
An ?Old Fashioned? 4th of July festival will begin at 1pm Friday at the Copperopolis Town Square.
In Mokelumne Hill there will be 4th of July activities taking place throughout the day on Friday, with a parade starting at 11am.
Patriotic music and contemporary tunes will be a part of the Murphys First Friday in the Park event set to begin at 5:30pm at Murphys Community Park. Meanwhile, a dusk fireworks display will be a part of the offerings at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys starting late Saturday afternoon.
The Twain Harte Business Association is sponsoring the second annual 4th of July Celebration on Friday. Activities begin at 11am with a parade.
Christian Heights Church on Joshua Way in Sonora will host a celebration with numerous activities for children from 10am to 4pm on Friday.
