Groveland Ranger District, CA — The 2,889 acre North Mountain Fire reached 100 percent containment Thursday evening at six o´clock.
Demobilization has reduced crew size to 377 with 12 hand crews, five engines, six water tenders and three helicopters remaining on site.
Crews are directing their efforts towards hazards that remain such as islands of unburned fuel and snags. Crews continue to monitor the fire and mop up all threats to the perimiter.
Helicopters continue to support the incident by transporting crews, providing water drops and back hauling extra equipment and trash from the fire line.
Five crews will remain in the “spike” camp for the next 24 hours to access the remote northeasterly edge of the fire.
18 injuries have been reported none of them of a serious nature.
