Heavy Smoke Arrives In The Mother Lode

Sonora, Ca — Officials from CAL Fire and the Stanislaus National Forest report that they been fielding numerous calls this evening about the heavy smoke that has drifted into Tuolumne and Calaveras County.

According to the CAL Fire Dispatch Center, the smoke is coming from fires north of the Mother Lode. The largest is the 10,000 acre Butte County Fire. As of 6:40pm, there are no major fires in the CAL Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras jurisdiction.
